The Valentine

Show some love to our Historic Hometown of RVA! Virginia is known for being the “Birthplace of the Nation”. It was St. Johns Church in Richmond that held the Virginia Convention that would ultimately lead to American Independence. You remember Patrick Henry, Right? Of course, but there is so much more to learn. Richmond is filled with history, and people who love it. From now until September 5th, the work of nationally-known Richmond photographer Alyssa C. Salomon, examines the resurging practice of keeping backyard chickens and how our relationship with food sources continues to evolve. A Chicken in Every Plot includes portraits of Richmond-area urban and suburban chickens and the yards in which they thrive, an homage to the quintessential deviled egg, plus household objects and historic photographs from the Valentine’s collection.
